I don't play with multi hit but I have some suggestions to balance it. Only long and heavy two-handed weapons or blades coupled with a high strength level. 2 zombies max and no multi push. I feel pushing should be limited to 1 zombie because it looks silly to pushing 3 zombies down with one arm while holding a weapon. 2.

Multihit is 100% cheating and must only be used by new players. Nah, it is how folks like to play it, their decision their oppinion. Just like how some folks burn down massive hordes of zombies, or use the crate and fence tactic. Multihit isnt that bad, but in the context of single player its a huge advantage.Remember in Zomboid you aren't a super hero, just a regular guy or gal trying to survive. I've done a lot of boxing and sparing with weapons including a quarterstaff and overall it just seems a bit too silly to be able to hit multiple foes with one strike (especially for just the average person).
I will be doing my first multi-hit off run, and I initially only disabled multi-hit, because I wanted every weapon to have a niche I'm kinda new to the game but I feel like slow, long weapons will be too nerfed on multi-hit and won't have a place in the game

If attack animations were updated to allow for smooth continuous attacks, then multi-hit would be an easy-mode DPS buff. Even with with multi hit on, there is a limited amount of zombies you can hit at once with said weapon. Many weapons are limited to 2, some bigger one its 3 but rarely more unless modded. 2 isn't that much when you are facing a horde of 50zombies.
