That's the stock issue that most everyone cut their teeth on. It's good. The TYA catalog is kinda funky. The Decca stuff is near perfect. Once they hit a stride on Shhhh and Green, things got murky.1. Targets with unique mastering. This means compared to all CD releases of a given album. 2. Cheap CDs that have the same mastering as their Target counterparts. Any CD at all that has the same mastering as the Target. 3. Targets that only share mastering with its 32XD counterparts.

I think the mono mix of Rubber Soul is the way to go for that album, even though "Michelle" sounds pretty lousy. The original stereo mix has some balance issues regarding the volume of the instruments relative to the voices, plus the awkward panning. The remix retains most of the poor panning decisions and adds unnecessary reverb.
