L5P fuel filter failure. After being down for weeks I finally took off on another haul yesterday and almost made it 100 miles. Pulled over and shut the truck off. Came back out and all it would do is crank. No start. Tried a few things that didn’t work then dropped the new GM fuel filter for a look.

I took it to Chevy (GM) Dealer for relearning per actuator replacement instructions. They used MDI2 GDS Software to conduct the requested relearn, however, the initial "counts" show 287 exceeding the max value of 285 per the GDS software, so now code P100B displays with CEL at ignition on, engine on.Sep 30, 2017 · The L5P is flat out a better built motor! Go do your research! The L5P has new heads on it that flow much better and a new fuel injection system but the main engine is mainly the same. Main and oil cooling were increased to deal with the extra power. It is a great engine, most Duramax are but it is let down by choking emissions and warranty issues.

Jan 2, 2018 · My son's L5P is having fuel delivery issues and the (lift) pump by the fuel tank is whining like crazy when the temp is 15 degrees or colder . Yesterday the truck had to get towed. The fuel is treated from the terminal and we use Cenpeco super diesel klenz at the rate of 1qt per 20 gallons fuel. I was upstate NY and my LML started and ran fine ... To fit a 35" tire you will need to come up 3.5" and do minor trimming of the plastic front valance. You can do a level lift like Rough Country and Super Lift and turn up the keys and 35s will clear provided you don't go to negative on offset. I don't recommend a leveling kit or cranking the keys because it will ride like a fat girl on a moped.Feb 5, 2017 · Looking at the Banks Video of the L5P tear down - it's much different than the LML on the Exhaust side of the turbo housing - the stock Down pipe looks like a cannister. 2024 L5P throttle response issues. I just bought a 2024 GMC 2500HD AT4 w/ Duramax. When leaving a stop light there is a slight shutter on acceleration. Is This normal? Also when coming to a stop slowing to a slow roll (about 5-10 mph) I step on the accelerator and the truck takes a solid 5-10 seconds to start responding.

I have used 10 qts. on all my dmaxs and they all showed full-- just sayin".The connector is starting to go bad, and it's right now, an intermittent failure. Heat and vibration will kill it sooner than later. Replacement connector kit is available from AcDelco. Stay clear of the ones on Amazon. In other words, if in M5 it will shift normally up to 5th gear and not go into 6th. They tell us to never use 6th while towing heavy. Keep the RPMs between 1800 and 2400 and it will stay the coolest, with around 2200 being the best.A voltage drop of 1.6V at 400A means over 640w of resistive heat to be dissipated. If the run is 40 feet round trip that means you're somewhere around 15-20 watts per linear foot of cable. That's way too much; they're going to get hot.
