Yeah Rykard is pretty easy if you're built right, you don't even need the gimmick weapon against him. However, there is a boss even easier than both Rykard and the tutorial boss, and that's mimic tear. Take off all your equipment before starting the fight.

I thought Rykard was a piece of shit, but after understanding how to get away from the "unfair" attacks, he became my favourite boss (so far) Track his head, do insane damage and staggers him. Kill him before he summons all the skulls. So you say the skulls kill you. Rykard fights itself was so incredibly disappointing, because it could have been so much cooler. The visuals are AMAZING, so is the lore. But all they did was the same gimmick fight from the previous souls. And you are literally encouraged to cheese the fight, by spamming the weapon skill and stunlocking the boss. It literally can't do anything.

Gail cave. There's a cooldown on staggering/stunlocking him. Damn should have recorded mine. 1st phase cheez - get next to him stand in the lava. And FP abilities , heavy attacks , light attacks. finished In half a minute. 2nd phase cheese - stay under his head's attack reach.
