That's just rng. They have always been horrible drop rates. Some people get two or three in 10 runs while others get one to drop in 20 runs. I've had days where I ran for an hour and got nothing, other days where I got what I wanted after three runs. I have done exactly 9 Legendary Runs yesterday and 10 Master Runs today and have not received a Single exotic. That does not seem to be "common" drop Rates. RNG is a fickle mistress. In Feb my Titan ran Concealed Void on Master, 10 times, before getting the exotic chest. Yesterday my Warlock ran Bunker E15, on Legend, just once, and got Mantle ...The Lost Sector was designated to drop Helmets. We just got lucky like you. You can run them in a fireteam but exotics only drop on solo clears. You can get exotics, but they will not be that days slot specific nor does it have bad luck protection. To get slot specific and get guaranteed new items you have to run solo.

Lost sector drop rate is ~25%. So The odds of 46 dry runs in a row is ~1/560,000. So technically not impossible, but either it's somehow bugged, has some sort of hidden lockout mechanic, or you're full of shit. For the time it takes to complete one when compared to Legend Lost Sectors, the drop rate increase isn't noticeable enough. You are always better off going for Legend clears, as they are significantly faster to complete, whilst having a similar enough drop rate (IIRC Legend has a 20% or 25% drop rate, where as Master has a 30% or 35% rate).

Lost sectors are by far the best exotic farm. Over time Legends average out to ~20% drop rate, Masters to ~40% and you have the advantage of targeting a specific armor slot. Legends are probably the best bang for your buck overall since many can be easily cleared in under 5 minutes.

Master lost sectors have a 33% exotic drop chance flawless or not. Its just the way it is. You're better off farming Legend lost sectors. It's statistically better. Youre better off farming GMs, the drop rate for lost sectors are abysmal and inconsistent.
