Kingmaker hexploration is… boring. I’ve been a player in the past few months in a kingmaker campaign in 2e. We started out using the GM’s conversion of the 1e rules, but since the player’s guide came out, we started to use those rules. I also have experience with book 2 of AoA which is a whole lot of hexploration as well.

For your question though, both Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous are based off Pathfinder 1e. Pathfinder 1e and 2e are rather different from one another, especially regarding how classes are structured and character creation is performed. I assume any hex-based exploration rules will come with the Kingmaker remaster. There was a post here about a month back with what Paizo had revealed on their Twitch stream, and it didn’t have anything related to hexcrawling.
