Stopped at 85 questions. I feel terrible, my weaknesses are PEDS/OB and I got at least 50 of those. More than half of my exam was SATA questions, no math, 1 EKG strip. Lots of prioritization and delegation questions. Sobbed in the parking lot right after the exam. I’m so sure I failed again. It’s like 3am and I literally cannot even sleep.For some students, CAT may determine within 75 questions that the individual has passed or failed. For others, it could take 85, 100, or even the full 145 questions. Just because the examination shuts off at 75 questions does not mean that you have automatically failed. In fact, it could mean just the opposite, which is exactly what happened to me. •. If it stops at 85, that means you’ve either passed it by a significant confidence interval, or failed by a significant interval. The passing standard is 50%. Meaning you have to answer questions correctly at least 50% of the time. If by 85 questions the nclex is 95% confident you can or cannot do that, it will shut off. Ok that is a relief. I just took my nclex-pn today and I got tons of sata questions. Like I would say at least 50. It shut off at 85 and I just don't feel that great about it. I didn't think that I totally failed miserably, but I didn't think I was passing with flying colors either.

The odds are in your favor. If for some reason you do fail at 85 definitely use Uworld or other NCLEX practice sites to take realistic practice exams to see where you fell short. The important thing is to remember if you made it this far you are smart enough to take the exam.
