In theory, it will detect if the fob is inside the car vs outside, but these systems are not that precise and get it wrong sometimes.

Then I tried to use it, and took me a few tries to get it right (as I mentioned above). To lock it, open driver door, press lock button, then both lock and rear unlock on the FOB to disable FOB. Close door. Now the only way to open it is with the PIN at the back, so don't forget that number.
