Allright, here goes.... I have a 98 ranger 4x4 with a tiny 3.0 in it. It seized a bearing... I bought an engine from a 98 Explorer... 4.0 SOHC. I didn't know at the time that there were two different 4.0's. I have the Engine, Trans, ECM... I have the engine, ECM, and trans bolted up into the truck. all of the wiring plugged right up.There are lots of options for carbs and distributors for the 302s. And plenty of upgrades for this engine. The 302 fits Ranger engine bays because its only 19" wide, its not quite a drop in, you do need motor mounts and to use a remote mount oil filter. The 2wd and 4x4 are the same in that respect, 2wd is usually easier.Starting A, Z and X Plan price is for qualified, eligible customers and excludes document fee, destination/delivery charge, taxes, title and registration.
