To open a margin account, you need to fund your account with a minimum of $2,000 USD. It usually takes 2 to 3 business days to get approved after submitting the application. 5 year CD was purchased for $1000 with 3.3% coupon, CUSIP 949763TR7. TD is showing market value as $987.39. I entered a sell order. There is no option to set a price. Under order status, it appears I have a bid with "retail price" 94.99. I assume this means if I accept I will get $949.90 back, or $37.49 below market.
