Ruger security 9 slide stuck.
94 posts · Joined 2019. #1 · Mar 2, 2020. I bought a new Security 9 a few months ago and from day one I had light strike issues with it. Lately it's been 2-3 times per mag which is pretty bad. I was shooting factory Blazer Brass 115's and 124's as well as my reloads and the problem persisted no matter what ammo I used.
The fix was to take an Xacto knife and scrape the top part of this outline. It probably required a MM or less of material removal. You caould also probably slightly file the thumb lever itself, but it would need to be removed. Hopefully Ruger reads these forums - the problem could easily be fixed by grinding a MM off the bottom of the thumb lever.25 posts · Joined 2013. #1 · Jun 30, 2013. That reminded me of mine, I was shooting it when new and then I had a misfeed on the 21st round, like a level 3 malfunction. I had a hard time removing the partially loaded magazine, but got it and the round out. Then it was a tussle to get the chambered brass out, but I did that. I could not get the slide back far enough to lock the slide back.

Now slam your strong hand into the back of the grip being sure to depress the grip safety as you do it. Remember the grip safety, if not depressed, will keep an XD locked shut. The Ruger SR series was later discontinued in 2019 but the LCP series lives on.
