This can be a simple/cheaper solution to replacing the whole bonnet (which wouldn't have worked) or the whole base which is costly.It may help to turn off the light if you have a particular version of the lr3. Basically when the light turns on the bonnet sensor will short out. If you have the issue though without the light on then there may be a different issue.
