Seen enough of the 70s eat up the clutches by not adding enough slip lube. When I service any 70 or 80 min amount is 1 1/2 bottles in the 70 and 2 in the 80. I put in exactly recommend amount of 1.75 quarts. That amount barely fill up the bigger cover. Some recommend adding till fluid comes out of the filling hole. The transmission however takes a GL4 rated gear oil or synchromesh fluid. A gl5 rated oil has too much sulfur in it which affects the synchromesh parts.
