The helicopter expanded mod is pretty interesting if you haven't tried it. First helicopter will show up on day 2-3, but it'll fly over the area and shoot zombies, whilst dropping leaflets. Second one will show up after a weak or so and do the same, but with a warning, and a few days later and air raid seiren will sound.

That means it will pull them from your nearby base, or any nearby towns/houses. You can use this event to clear out an area you want to loot with fewer zombies around. You have to be inside the entire time the Helicopter is in the area and you cannot be seen at any point from the outside. Being in view from an open window could spell your doom. Making any noise can also alert the Helicopter to your presence.
