Jan 7, 2011 · The fuel pump will need a power feed going to it. The OEM one isn't going to work anymore due to the motor etc being out of it. You will need to provide the fuel pump relay with another source of switched power, as the Jeep ECM is not providing one now. A wire from a hot wire will work fine to switch the relay over.

Since your XJ is a 2001, it won't have plug wires or a distributor but instead has a coil pack ignition.
