With a flat top piston at 0 deck the typical 97 cc chamber will net close to 10 to 1 static c/r. Domed pistons can bring that to 10.7 to 1 with a 12 cc dome.

You will either have to use the OEM rockers for the early heads as the later bolt down rockers will NOT work. Early rockers tend to chew up the valve stem tips so we avoid them. the D0VE heads will raise your compression approx 1 pt. stock on the 78 is around 8:1 so putting the DOVE heads on will get you approx 9:1 ratio give or take a few tenths. as far as flow between the two heads they are pretty well identical so the only performance gain will be with the compression gain. also the D0VE heads use screw in rocker ...

The D2's are open chamber and yes those are prone to detonation (the D2's only). D3's are really close-port wise-to the D0VE's but obviously the D3's have bolt-down rockers and bigger chambers.
